For more information on the various architectural styles and their defining characteristics, we suggest two books. The first is for homes in general - "Field Guide to American Houses" published by Alfred A. Knopf Inc. The second refers specifically to homes in the Phoenix area -"Historic Homes of Phoenix - an Architectural & Renovation Guide" published by the City of Phoenix- Historic Preservation Commission. |

There are a number of styles under the Craftsman umbrella (California Bungalow, etc.). We have adopted the characteristics that are fairly common to all. The Craftsman style was quite popular from 1905 to 1930. There is a resurgence in interest in things Craftsman. |

The Arizona Ranch Architectural Style is not a recognized style. It is our name for a general style observed in the neighborhoods that spanned a territorial look, farm house look, and early ranch style homes. |
